Girl Souts of all ages are invited to the Museum to complete requirements for merit badges and to participate in other exciting activities!
Merit Assistance Programs
Merit assistance programs involve an interactive museum tour. All merit assistance programs are free, but reservations are required. Space is limited. Troops and individual Girl Scouts are welcome to attend. Girl Scouts may only register for one merit assistance program. Significantly large troops may be asked to make private reservations another day.

- 10:00am-11:00pm* - Poetry Workshop: How to Cope Using Words: In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, join local author Katie Rodriguez Banister for a poetry writing workshop. Katie holds the title Ms. Wheelchair Missouri and placed as fourth runner up in the 2010 Ms. Wheelchair America Competition. Don't forget to stop by the special exhibition The Americans with Disabilities Act: 20 Years Later!
- 11:30am-1:00pm - Radio Disney Live Appearance: Listen to music, dance, play games, and enter to win prizes!
- 11:30am-12:00pm - Teens Make History Performance of Bombing the Front Page: The Story of Virginia Irwin: Local teens take the stage, performing a 20-minute play based on the story of the remarkable female World War II correspondent for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
- 12:30pm-3:00pm - Paper Doll Making Workshop
- 2:00pm - Theatre in the Museum performance of Go Home Rosie!: Women heeded the nation's call to work during World War II, but what happened to Rosie once the war was won? Although this 20-minute one-woman play will be enjoyed by all levels, this play is perfect for Brownies working on their Careers Try-It!
- 12:30pm-1:30pm - "Befriending the Bat," provided by the Wildlife Rescue Center (ages 5-8): Is it a bird? A flying rat? A miniature dinosaur? None of the above! That shadowy creature who flies above your head after sunset is the bat, who loves to call Missouri home. Come spend an hour with the Wildlife Rescue Center and discover why these unique creatures are so important to our ecosystems. Learn about the threatening "white-nosed syndrome" that affects bats and what can be done to help our fellow insectivores survive this deadly disease. Workshops will include learning activities, multi-media action, and a take home craft to help local bats in your region.
- 1:30pm-2:30pm - "Befriending the Bat" (ages 9-12): The older age group for the same program listed above!
- 3:30pm-4:30pm* - Belly Dance Class: Professional dance instructor Nicole Thomas will teach girls the dance that was one of the most popular performances at the 1904 World's Fair.
*Reservations are required for the Poetry Workshop and the Belly Dance Class.
